Environment

In alignment with Malaysia’s commitment under the Paris Agreement, Qdos is dedicated to supporting national and global efforts to combat climate change. The Paris Agreement, adopted in 2015, aims to limit global warming to well below 2 degrees Celsius, with efforts to limit the increase to 1.5 degrees Celsius. Malaysia has pledged to reduce its GHG emissions intensity of GDP by 45% by 2030 relative to 2005 levels and aims for net-zero emissions as early as 2050.

Globally, the trend is towards a low-carbon future, with increasing commitments to net-zero emissions and significant shifts towards renewable energy, energy efficiency, and sustainable industrial practices. Malaysia’s ambitious targets reflect its crucial role in this movement, contributing to the global effort to mitigate climate change.

Qdos, a leading manufacturer of Flexible Printed Circuit Boards and IC substrates, fully supports Malaysia’s climate goals. We aim to significantly reduce our GHG emissions, contributing to Malaysia’s national targets and the global trend towards sustainability. Our efforts in measuring, reporting, and reducing emissions demonstrate that economic growth and environmental responsibility can coexist. Through our sustainable practices, Qdos is committed to ensuring a resilient and prosperous future for our company, stakeholders, and the environment.

Our Progress on GHG Reduction

 Our Initiatives

Green Project

We have installed a 1.12MWp solar panel system for our company, significantly reducing our reliance on non-renewable energy sources. This investment in solar energy underscores our commitment to sustainability and reducing our carbon footprint.

3R Program

Our 3R Program focuses on recycling, reusing, and reducing waste. We recycle packaging plastics and carton boxes, reuse pallets, and recycle the gold used in our products. We also encourage and educate all employees to adopt a 3R mindset, promoting a culture of sustainability within our organization.

Water Reduction

We implement a water-saving strategy by reusing our RO reject water for toilet flushing and other miscellaneous uses. This practice helps in conserving water resources and reducing wastage.

Electricity Saving

To conserve electricity, we practice turning off lights during break times in offices that are not in use. Additionally, we use auto timers for certain appliances to cut off electricity during off-work hours, ensuring efficient energy use.

Transition to Electric Vehicles

We are committed to reducing our carbon emissions and have invested in an EV as our company vehicle. This transition to electric vehicles reflects our dedication to sustainability and minimizing our environmental impact.
